I've taken notes on the Bible since I was a teen. It just seemed like the obvious thing to do. But writing IN my bible. Well, that's been a far more recent thing.

My interest in Sketchnotes certainly helped as well as seeing pictures of marginalia from Austin Kleon. But despite the inspiration, I still had a mental barrier to writing in my bible.

"What should I write in my Bible?"

It wasn't that I felt it was wrong to write in the Bible, it was my fear of making notes that would be useful in the future.

So I spent a year investigating other people's approaches and adding notes into my Bible. Yes, I made mistakes along the way and not all the notes are as smart or inspired as the others, but now I have a system that works for me.

If you struggle with the same issue, you could do what I did.

You could read ten articles, what a hundred YouTube videos, and mark up 50+ pages in your Bible till you develop your own system.

or you could take the shortcut, read my short guide and then have a system that will work for you.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the time I spent researching Bible mark up systems but I really wish I have found a similar guide when I started my search.
